Please take Notice that a Public Hearing will be conducted by the Town Board of Smithville on Thursday November 5th, 2026 at 6:30pm for the purpose of contracting with the Genegantslet Fire Company, Inc. for fire protection within the Genegantslet Fire District (Smithville portion) for the period January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027. The amount to be raised by tax is $112,270.00. All persons may be heard for or against. Such Public Hearing will be held at the Community Center, 5285 State Hwy. 41 Smithville Flats, NY.

Notice of Public Hearing 2027 Preliminary Budget
Please take Notice that a Public Hearing will be conducted by the Town Board of Smithville on Thursday November 5th 2026 at 6:40pm to hear Public Comment on the proposed 2027 Preliminary Budget for the Town of Smithville. A copy of the Preliminary Budget may be viewed at the Town Clerkâs Office during regular open hours, M,T,W,Th,F 9am-noon.
The proposed salaries of elected/appointed Town Officials are as follows:
- Highway Supt: $43,000.
- Councilmen: (4) $ 6,400. ($1,600. ea)
- Town Clerk: $ 11,500.
- Town Justice: $ 4,500.
- Town Assessor: $12,075.
- Tax Collector: $ 6,000.
